Although this coin is intended for silver bullion investors, the fact remains that 2008 is the first year of issue and this always will be the case, and that makes it a significant numismatic event. Initial sales of this coin far exceeded the available supply. However, ECI has been able to obtain a quantity of these coins and has had them encapsulated. The obverse also bears the country of issue Republic of Austria, “Republik Oesterreich,” the year of issue 2008, and the face value of 1.5 euros. The reverse side of the coin, bears the popular design of the bouquet of instruments, with the word silver, “Silber,” immediately above.
